Beautiful property with third world service and ops
The Rosewood is the beautiful jewel of sprawling Baha mar. Just the focus put into the design of all the uniquely beautiful ceilings throughout the property is jawdroppong. Bahamar has tons of good restaurants, beaches that go on and on across the stunning bright blue Bahamian coastline. Unfortunately, this is all marred by woefully poor service and operations with an extreme focus on food and beverage margins. A short list of the issues we encountered at the supposed “ultra luxury” property- Room temperature “champagne” at the airport pickup Power outage at property upon arrival Room with 12pm delivery time not delivered until 3 Placed under continuous extremely loud construction (this one is unforgivable and shows utter contempt for any affected guests. It’s a holiday weekend, pause the construction. Or at least sell affected rooms at half off with full disclosure. Selling someone a 1500$ a night room with constant drilling is essentially theft) A move took another hour after a lengthy debate with management justifying the noise due to a disclosure on their website which not delivered via Amex travel None of the IT in the entire property worked. Room service on in room iPad couldn’t complete a transaction. The Baha mar app couldn’t facilitate a login. The electric shades only half worked. The chrome cast on the tv did not connect. Even the wristband scanner Baha bay doesn’t work. There is staff everywhere but most don’t do anything. We have not found a single occupied towel station anywhere on property. You must chase someone town to setup a chair. Servers at the beach and pools are similar. Prices are staggeringly high even to someone who lives in south beach. 60$ all in for a 4 bite lobster roll on a dry roll with negligible lobster at cafe boulud. Burgers and water for four by the beach 240$ with no alcohol. I’m happy to pay for quality but the pricing here is just abusive. That being said, Shanikwah the manager was really nice and cared. We got into an impromptu dance off with no music in the lobby during the power outage. Justin at cafe boulud was great as well. But that brings us to the most unhinged service part of our stay. Shanikwah told me I absolutely must do karaoke in the lounge on Friday. So I did. It wasn’t really setup like real karaoke with a lounge singer having lyrics on her phone and a single mic. Anyway, we did bohemian rhapsody which she didn’t know so after a bit I just went around the bar and got everyone engaged singing and dancing. She was so enraged that everyone was having fun without her, she cut the mic. Thinking it was technical difficulties we just kept on singing. Then she went into a rant how this wasn’t karaoke and it was so inappropriate for me to leave her side and this isn’t karaoke and she wanted to sing together. That childlike meltdown really epitomizes the current state of the Rosewood- a beautiful tourist trap that is focused on the whims of staff and maximizing margins rather than delivering the promised ultra luxury guest experience. It would be a great property with professional management from the US or Hong Kong, but it most certainly does not have that.

If you like the casino experience, worth the stay.
Very nice hotel and casino. A little more busy than I like, but not the hotel's fault for this. Staff was very welcoming and friendly. Hotel was very clean and well maintained. The shopping area in the hotel could have a few more options. I understand it is a resort shopping plaza on site but it seemed to be lacking. Also, the restaurants all had such long waits because of the number of guests at the hotel and service at these was marginal, food was average. One plus was the coffee room near the bar that was staffed with very attentive waitresses who were absolute fun. One issue we did have was trying to catch the concierge at the desk. It seemed that every time we went there, no one was there. We wanted to set up a dive trip and also fishing. While great for safety, another thing I wasn't a fan of was the wristband system. If you didn't have it on, you couldn't pass through the hotel and a few times it didn't work to open our room door. Prices are a bit steep for resort food and the mini bar was very overpriced. Bahamas is expensive already, but this was very high. One thing I do suggest is taking the hotel car to the fish market. Some excellent food there and worth a dinner out. The car driver, an older gentleman, was a great historian, made us feel like royalty, and was truly amazing. Hotel would be good for families with kids (lots of activities, the beach, pools) and couples. We probably wouldn't come back simply because we have been to the Bahamas so many times, but for someone looking for a trip where you wouldn't need to leave the resort for any reason, this is perfect. Everything, from food, events, and nightlife is all in one spot.

Rosewood Baha Mar forever
We’ve stayed at Rosewood several times now, and every time we leave, we find ourselves talking about when we can come back. There’s just something about the resort that makes you feel relaxed and taken care of from the moment you arrive. The property is beautiful, and we really enjoy the décor. It has a very elegant feel without being overly formal or stuffy. The rooms are comfortable, beautifully appointed, and always feel like a place you can truly unwind. Everything is thoughtfully done, and you notice the little details. For us, though, it’s really the service that makes Rosewood stand out. The staff are genuinely friendly and attentive, and the service feels personal rather than routine. You can tell that creating a great experience for guests really matters to the team. We also love that it works equally well for a couples’ getaway or a family trip. There’s plenty of luxury and relaxation, but it still feels comfortable and welcoming, which is a hard balance to get right. We have to give a special mention to Shanecquar Collie. She has been so wonderful to us during our visits and always makes us feel genuinely welcomed. She remembers the little things, is incredibly thoughtful, and has a natural way of making you feel at home. She is definitely one of those people who makes an already great resort experience even better. Overall, Rosewood has become a favorite for us. Beautiful property, wonderful rooms, great service, and an atmosphere that makes you want to slow down and enjoy being there. We’re already looking forward to our next visit.

Baha Mar Resort
The cost of food at the Baha MarvResort is too expensive; a mix of Disney and Las Vegas.

Never Again
I wish I was writing a great review but our stay at Rosewood Baha Mar was a huge disappointment. I spent a great deal of time prior to our stay making reservations, emailing with the Consierge, etc. We were lead to believe that this was the nicest of the hotels in the complex and more exclusive. We were told that guests from other hotels could not come into the Rosewood area of the hotel, unless they were staying there. We were told there was security to keep others out of this hotel whether in the hotel, at the pool or outside at the beach area. Also, in my research, the Consierge said there were very few children at the hotel. None of these things were the case. I have never seen so many crying, loud, screaming children, running down hallways, in the pool, in the restaurants, in the lobby area, even around the casino. I saw someone checking arm bands on the walkway from the other hotels to the beach pool area one day only. That was it. No one from the casino to the hotel. They let everyone in. We paid for an ocean view room but looked at the other rooms across from ours, with a slight partial view. The fan pool can be nice and tranquil until the children show up. While swimming, I saw cups/glasses, beer cans, menus by the pool's edge and in the flower beds from the day(s) before. No one was picking any of that up. The cushions on the daybeds were dirty. Definitely needed a good clean. Upon arrival, we had a note from the manager about a rejuvenating, tranquil stay. No such thing. They booked a wedding right below us with a band that echoed through the hotel outside until 10 pm on Saturday night. A note on Baha Mar. The complex had a basketball tournament going on in the convention center. The restaurants were packed and it seemed the reservation system was not implemented as there would be 30 plus people with their wild, screaming kids (no discipline there) waiting to dine. Mind you, this is at the best restaurants, not the restaurants designed for the kids. We figured out if you went to the bar in the restaurants you wouldn't be seated next to all these children so we changed our reservations to bar dining. The beaches were packed. So glad we didn't book a daybed there. I was really surprised while walking the beach, to see all the trash all down the beach that no one had picked up. We had planned to do a snorkel trip and maybe some paddle boarding but once we saw the chaos, we spent our time on the quietest part of the pool area on a day bed. It's expensive. It is supposed to be exclusive. Might as well have gone to Disneyland. I felt sorry for any of the other couples, maybe honeymooners, because this is not a place to go for relaxation. The staff tried. Several told us it didn't use to be this way. One server told me at breakfast in The Library, that children had come in the day before and left food all over the floors, stained the sofas, when they were not supposed to eat there. Rosewood needs to make a decision. Is this an upscale, mainly adult hotel or one that caters to families with small children? Side note, we love kids/have our own. This was a couples trip not one we planned to spend this way.
