Not to be confused with the similar-sounding Ambergris CAYE in Belize, Ambergris Cay is located about 600 miles southeast of Miami, Florida and 100 miles north of the Dominican Republic. The island sits on the southeast corner of the string of Turks and Caicos Islands that surrounds the world-famous Caicos Banks, whose shallow turquoise blue waters and surrounding reefs are so brilliant, they can be seen from space. Just east of the island is the Grand Turk Passage that descends to nearly 7,000 ft. with ideal conditions for fishing, whale watching and wall diving.
Ambergris Cay has been a private island since its purchase in 1811 and saw little development until the late 20th century when modern infrastructure was put into place, catering to an upscale clientele looking for privacy and rustic Caribbean charm. The
island has the largest private runway in the Caribbean at 5,700 ft. in length, which allows resident homeowners and guests to fly in with private planes. Reverse osmosis water purification and independent electrical generation systems allow the island to live

The staff was absolutely amazing! Everyone went above and beyond to make our stay exceptional. We came for our honeymoon and birthdays, and they made the entire week truly unforgettable. Every part of the resort was clean. Our room was excellent and loved that we had our own pool just steps from the turquoise water. Clay was especially helpful and went out of his way to assist us at every turn throughout our trip. His hospitality and attention to detail really stood out. We would highly recommend staying here over anywhere else we’ve visited, whether you’re celebrating a special occasion or simply looking for a place to relax and get away. We can’t wait to come back!

The Most Romantic and Extraordinary Experience of Our Lives
It is difficult to put into words what this past week at Ambergris Cay has meant to us. My husband and I came here hoping for a beautiful, romantic getaway, and somehow it became one of the most profound and unforgettable experiences we have ever shared. There were moments this week when we genuinely looked at each other and said, “Is this heaven?” and that is not an exaggeration. Ambergris Cay itself is paradise, but what makes this place truly extraordinary is the people. We have never in our lives experienced this level of care. We were treated like a king and queen from the moment we arrived. Every detail was thought of, often before we even knew we needed it. There is something incredibly special about being so lavishly and genuinely cared for, and that feeling stayed with us throughout our entire visit. Our incredible butler, Monica, deserves a special thank you. She was attentive, dedicated, thoughtful, detail-oriented, and seemed to anticipate everything. She played such a huge role in making this week what it was, and we will never forget how wonderfully she took care of us. To Miguel, Pedro, J, Junell, and the entire wait staff, thank you for making every meal and every interaction feel special. To Jason, the sommelier, thank you for the wonderful wine experiences and attention you gave us. To the unbelievably talented saxophone player, who created some of the most romantic moments of our trip, thank you for giving us memories we will carry with us forever. The spa staff and treatments were exceptional. Our housekeeping team somehow seemed to know every time we left our room, quietly coming in to refresh everything, and then returning again to turn down our room and prepare our bed each evening. Those may sound like small details, but it was the accumulation of hundreds of thoughtful details like these that made us feel so incredibly cared for. And to Kayden and Kyle, thank you for the amazing conch tour and boat experiences. You brought so much fun and personality to our week and helped us experience this beautiful island in ways we never could have on our own. We know we are probably forgetting names, and that is only because there were so many people behind the scenes who made this week possible. So to every single member of the Ambergris Cay team..thank you. Please know that your work matters. You didn’t simply provide incredible service, you created an experience and memories that we will cherish for the rest of our lives. The island is breathtaking. The accommodations are beautiful. The food, spa, activities and surroundings are exceptional. But when we talk about this trip years from now, what we will remember most is the people and the way they made us feel. We arrived at Ambergris Cay expecting paradise. We left realizing that paradise isn’t just the place.. it’s the people who make you feel like you are in it. Wonderful return trip!
This was our second trip to Ambergris and it was a fantastic experience, so much so we’ve already booked another visit. Everyone went out of their way to make our visit both relaxing and helpful. The entire team is wonderful, and Victoria & Clay especially stood out when it came to helping us explore options for a larger group return trip. Our only complaint was that the island shop didn’t have any sunscreen, so we had to use what was available at the beach club areas. But even still, Clay made sure to fill up a container for us and brought it to our room for easy access. Food and drink were amazing as always.

10/10 experience!
My husband and I came on our honeymoon and it was nothing short of amazing. The staff were all so kind, specifically Dony, Kayden, Eli, John and Jason. They made our stay unforgettable and we truly became friends with them. The food, water, villas, drinks and overall experience was unlike anything we’ve ever had. This place is exquisite! I would recommend it to anyone.

A private piece of paradise
Our trip to Ambergris Cay was truly unforgettable. From the moment we arrived, everything felt effortless, peaceful, and incredibly special. The island itself is absolutely breathtaking. The crystal-clear turquoise water, pristine beaches, and incredible sense of privacy make it feel like you’ve found your own little piece of paradise. What really stood out was the staff and level of service, especially our island host, Monica. She was absolutely incredible and truly made our stay even more special. She was always there whenever we needed her, went above and beyond to book our excursions, helped coordinate everything we wanted to do, and made sure we always had everything we needed. She was warm, attentive, and genuinely cared about making our trip perfect. Having Monica as our host was such a huge part of what made the experience so memorable. The accommodations were beautiful, the food was fantastic, and we loved having the freedom to explore the island while also being able to completely slow down, unplug, and relax. There’s something very different about Ambergris Cay compared to a traditional resort. It feels intimate, exclusive, and incredibly personal. It was the perfect getaway for the two of us and exactly the kind of place where you can truly disconnect from everything else and just enjoy being together in one of the most beautiful places imaginable. We left already talking about when we could come back. Ambergris Cay absolutely exceeded our expectations. It was truly a 10/10 experience, and Monica and the entire team made it a trip we will never forget.
