Excellent staff
Stayed here for a week end of August to beginning of September. We had a previously stayed at the Coba resort in 2019, First time staying here. Upon arrival we were offered an upgraded rooftop suite with a Jacuzzi, but after we compared room rooms, we decided just to stick with the regular suite. The Outside of the hotel needs an upgrade. It was obvious that the occupancy was very low. The buffet was very small, but we were always able to find something to eat. Staff are very friendly. We are in our 40s, but feel that this location is better suited for an older crowd as it tends to be quieter and far away from everything. The trolleys come to pick you up to take you to the other locations on the property however we were told they run every 20 to 30 minutes depending on time of day which is frustrating because there’s no way of knowing when the next one is coming and often had to wait 10+ minutes for one to come. If you go to an à la carte dinner at another hotel, make sure you give yourself more than enough time to get there. We booked the Bahia ATV + Cenote through the Amstar rep in the lobby and had a wonderful time and recommend it. The water pressure in the shower is terrible and the shower door did not close all the way. I forgot the power adapter for my iPhone in order to charge it and the one at the gift shop or hacienda was ridiculously expensive. Camila at guest services went above and beyond two provide me with one for the duration of our stay. Will I come back? Probably not. I don’t recommend this location for anyone under 60 unless you’re looking for a really quiet vacation. The mosquitoes were rampant and I had many bites so I would definitely recommend bringing repellent. There was the odd while life spotting.

Another excellent stay
Second visit to this hotel. Again, we found the vast majority of staff to be hard working and welcoming. Great to see a lot of the same staff from last year. One or two of the younger staff need a bit more supervision to keep them motivated. The food was of a high standard albeit options reduced for low season. The Guest Experience Team at the Bahia Príncipe Escape Sian Ka’an are still incredible and go out of their way to give guests. as far as possible, a personalised holiday experience. Armando, Isaac, Camila, Daniel, Erandi and Enrique were excellent. They absolutely go out of their way to ensure guests are well looked after and enjoying the hotel. If you like a calmer, relaxed experience choose this hotel in the Bahia complex. You will get a high standard of service, including in the Main restaurant and the two speciality restaurants: Maiko and Alux. Staff in the restaurants are very attentive and again a shout out to Carlos in the speciality restaurants. It is well documented that the rooms need some refurbishment but they still offer clean, good-sized accommodation, especially for long-haul stays from the UK. Service in the lobby bar can unfortunately be a bit hit and miss- sometimes you will be asked if you want a drink, other times the waitresses will stand at the end of the bar looking a bit bored and fed up on their phones. A bit more rotation of staff roles might be needed as the same staff seem to be there a lot in the afternoon/evening? Tips will motivate of course but it can be difficult to get hold of lower denomination notes which makes it difficult to tip every time you get a drink. A big annoyance this year was the increasingly pushy Privilege Team in all hotels trying to give you the same ‘patter’ to get you into a conversation. After the first few days it becomes very annoying: how are you, where are you from, what do you think of the resort,…,? Even when you say you have spoken to colleagues already they don’t always go away.

Pleasant surprise for this couple.
My wife and I spent 7 nights at Bahia Principe Sian Ka'an in January 2026, and overall, we really enjoyed our time here. The general vibe of the resort is very relaxing and quiet. While there are some on-site activities, one of the biggest perks was the shuttle service, which gave us access to all the sister Bahia resorts in the area. Between all the properties, there was a fair number of activities, buffets, and restaurants to choose from. The shuttles ran smoothly during our stay. Since Sian Ka'an is located on the golf course side of the highway, you do need to take a quick shuttle ride to reach the beach or other resorts. The beach itself is very nice, featuring a large breakwater that makes swimming easy and stress-free for all skill levels. Back at the resort, the pools were never overcrowded, and finding a lounge chair was always hassle-free. Our room was pleasant and comfortable, though a few of the older buildings on the property could benefit from a bit of updating. A major highlight was their smartphone app for booking restaurant reservations. It worked well- in fact, having visited a couple of other resorts since, I find myself wishing they used a system good as this one. While it might fall just short of a full five-star luxury rating in a few physical details, we had a fantastic stay and would happily recommend it.

Amazing Spa Experience
Angelica was amazing! I got two massages from her and they were genuinely the best massages I’ve ever had. She is a master. Do yourself a favor and go get a massage from Ms. Angelica!! I also received a manicure from Rosa, who did a great job. Highly recommend the Bahia Spa at Sian Ka’an!

Visit to Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an
My wife and I visited Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an during our stay at Bahia Explore Akumal. The resort is an adults-only property situated off the beach amidst a lush jungle setting. The atmosphere is relaxed, featuring multiple swimming pools for guest enjoyment. The resort offers a smaller buffet with a high-quality selection of food. Overall, it provides a tranquil and stress-free environment, making it an excellent option for those seeking a peaceful escape from busier properties.
