Avoid this one star dump.
Horrible experience. Half the hotel is renovated, theater half not. The renovated side might be 4 star but the other side deserves less than one star. Mold, broken fixtures and locks, flooding bathroom and very bad cuisine, especially at the specialty restaurants.

An honest and balanced review
Honest & Balanced Review We had a really enjoyable stay and, overall, I would recommend this resort as a good budget-friendly option, especially if you’re looking for a clean property, friendly staff, and plenty of food and drinks without expecting a luxury experience. Check-in: Check-in was quick and easy. We received our bracelets, which also served as our room keys, along with two towel cards. We were pleasantly surprised to be upgraded to Room 3128, an oceanfront room with a king-size bed. The room: The room itself is pretty basic, but it met our needs. It was a king bed. There was no coffee maker, and the refrigerator was more of a “keep things cool” situation than an actual cold fridge. They provided 2 bottles of water, as a recommendation some pops or beers would have been nice. The air conditioning worked well, the bed was comfortable, and the water temperature was consistently perfect. We had no issues with the room during our stay. One nice surprise was the smart TV, which allowed us to log into our Amazon account. We also had two balconies — one smaller balcony and another larger one with two chairs and a table, plus a rack for hanging wet swimsuits and clothes. Food: The buffets were average, but there was always plenty of food and we could always find something to eat. We didn't go hungry! There is also a snack bar between buffet times at the sister resort, although we unfortunately didn't realize we had access to it until our second-last day. We also tried the Crepe Bar and it was quite good! Would recommend! Drinks & bars: The bars never seemed to run out of alcohol. There are exclusive and premium drink options available, but we didn't purchase those upgrades, so we had access to the basic selections — which were perfectly fine for us. The bartenders overall were fantastic: quick, professional, friendly and fun. A special shout-out to Antolin, who was exceptional. He went above and beyond, was incredibly friendly and provided fantastic service. He definitely deserves recognition! We actually spent quite a bit of time at the pool bar at the sister resort, and the staff there were awesome. Most of the bars close around 11 p.m., but the disco stays open until 2 a.m., so alcohol service continues until 2 a.m. if you're looking to keep the night going. The disco was honestly the busiest resort disco I've ever seen! It had a great atmosphere and was definitely the place to be later in the evening. There is also a sports bar, although it felt more like a kids' entertainment/game area than a traditional sports bar. If you're expecting a quiet place to watch the game and have a drink, this probably isn't that kind of sports bar. Animation & entertainment: The daytime animation team was a lot of fun! They were energetic, friendly and made a genuine effort to get guests involved in the activities without being overly pushy. There was always something going on, and they definitely added to the atmosphere around the resort. In the evenings, entertainment consisted of karaoke, live singing and bands in the lobby bar at the other resort. At 9pm they had nighty shows whcih we didnt really go to as they seemed more geared to children. The lobby bar also made a really good espresso martinis. Pools & beach: The pools weren't particularly refreshing, but it was August and VERY hot, so that's understandable! There was never an issue finding a pool chair or beach chair, even though the resort was quite busy. The loungers were actually really comfortable and good quality, with adjustable sections where you could raise your knees. There were also plenty of shaded areas, which I really appreciated. The ocean was surprisingly clear of seaweed compared with some of the other resorts in the area. We were told by people staying elsewhere that they were dealing with a lot of seaweed, but that wasn't really an issue here. Bring water shoes if you plan on going into the ocean, though — it is very rocky. There is also a cordoned-off snorkeling area, and if you bring your own snorkel mask, you can see some really beautiful fish. One thing to be aware of is that the beach on the Yucatán side is quite steep. Cleanliness: This was probably one of the things that impressed me most. The entire property was extremely clean. Staff were constantly cleaning, maintaining and repairing things. I honestly don't think we saw a single piece of garbage anywhere. The washrooms throughout the resort were impeccable, including the pool bar washrooms, which were constantly being cleaned. Restaurants & resort: We tried both the Italian and Mexican à la carte restaurants. The Mexican restaurant was particularly good, and once again, the staff were wonderful. The property itself is beautiful and very well maintained. There are a few little shops for things you may need, and the crepe shop was fantastic! Overall: The staff throughout the resort were friendly, helpful and hardworking. The food was adequate, the room was basic but comfortable, and the property was exceptionally clean. For the price point, we felt it offered good value and I would recommend it as a budget resort, especially if you don't need luxury accommodations. My one suggestion to the resort would be to consider making the pool bars adults-only. It isn't particularly relaxing trying to enjoy a drink while kids are jumping around, splashing pool water into your beverage, or being in the pool in diapers. An adults-only pool bar would make the experience much more enjoyable for those looking to relax with a drink. Overall, we had a great time and would potentially consider returning.

Nice family stay
Nice family vacation at the Yucatan. Like with any all inclusive resort there are good and not so good points…. Good Points… 1. Hotel. Very friendly staff, a good variety of amenities, decent entertainment schedule and a few dining/bar options and ample sun beds / areas to relax. 2. Location. A 5min walk to the marina where you can see dolphins and a manatis was a real plus point. Plenty of bars and restaurants there too. Plenty of local activities. 3. Great in-site Mexican restaurant, highly recommend. 4. Wildlife. My kids loved the agoutis! Nice array of fish around the beach/Bay Area…great for snoring (when the sea grass allows!) Not So Good… 1. Buffet restaurant. Very repetitive. 2. Italian restaurant. Lacked flavour in most dishes. 3. Very basic room. Yes we did just book a comfort but the room quality was sub par. Phone in the room with a socket half hanging off the wall, dirty bathroom and some questionable marks in the room. Overall the service provided by the hotel was excellent which is why I have rated them so highly.

Lovely friendly resort
We just returned from a family vacation with 1 five year old/ 2 30 somethings (married) and a senior couple grandparents. What a lovely resort it was spotless and modern. I love that you are only permitted to eat in the buffets and snack bars so there are not plates of food sitting around. The workers are all kind and helpful. Santiago at the Steak house was wonderful. The rooms are spotless and cleaned twice a day. The shows are good and the atmosphere is low key with plenty of activities. Great value and location.

Mama Mia Italian Restaurant
We ate in the Italian restaurant today. Both the food and service was amazing, we had the pleasure of being served by Osiel. I would definitely recommend eating here!
