Great food, but too many disappointments!

The food was awesome! Unfortunately, outside of the food, the entire resort did not live up to our expectations compared with other all-inclusive resorts we have stayed at. We always look forward to good music and entertainment while on vacation, so if that is important to you, I would not recommend this resort. There was no music at the pools, and there was very little evening entertainment. My husband and friends tried to play a little music from a small speaker that could only be heard by our group, but we were told speakers were not allowed. We completely understand and respect the resort's policy, but in that case, the resort should provide some music at the pools for guests to enjoy while relaxing. Our air conditioning also did not work properly, and several others in our group experienced the same issue. Maintenance had to visit multiple times to try to resolve the problem. Another major concern was how extremely slippery the floors were throughout the resort. We witnessed several people fall, including individuals falling directly onto their backs. This seemed like a significant safety concern that the resort should address. The drinks were also subpar at best. Very little alcohol was added to the drinks, so if you wanted a normal-strength cocktail, you often had to request a double. We only stayed at this resort because we were attending a wedding there. Based on our experience, I would highly recommend researching and considering other all-inclusive resorts in the area. The resort is also quite far from town, with nothing within walking distance, which made it difficult to venture out without transportation. Overall, while the food was excellent, there were too many other issues for us to consider this resort a good value especially due to the cost of this resort. We would not recommend visiting!

    Bad wedding experience

Caution to wedding couples: We had my daughter’s wedding there - and THE most disappointing results of the pictures from the photographer because of a bad communication with the wedding coordinator . My kids have no pictures of just them! And the resort won’t make good on this or acknowledge the emails sent - they are ignoring us! My daughter and son in law are still very upset!

    Great memories for three generations!

Our three generations family trip for a week at Dreams Bahia Mita was enjoyed by all!!! Preferred Club Panoramic View on the 5th floor. The rooms are large, beds are average, and there is a lot of storage. Our kids and grandkids really enjoyed the soaker tub on the balcony overlooking the pools and ocean. They would go grab pails of ice and have an ice bath after coming back from the pool, waterpark or the beach, because it was 30-34 degrees Celsius every day! No alarm clock in the room. Very clean. Easy to order things like pillows, water, snacks, etc. on the app. All the restaurant menus are on the app as well. Long walks to get places, but we did not mind. Great shower. World Cafe - breakfast buffet was decent. We really liked the smoothie bar and the omelette station. We only went there for lunch once and it was tasty. Bahia Bites - by far our lunch favourite. Make sure you try the Baja Fish Tacos, the warm Chicken Cesar Wrap, the Gringas al Pastor and the Greek Chicken Gyro. Great addition to a waterpark. Taqueria - we didn't like any of the four dishes we ordered. There was a big hunk of cartilage in one of them. Barefoot Grill - ask them to put the burgers back on the grill unless you like very pink hamburger. We did not go back. Mexican Fiesta and BBQ nights in the main plaza both had a wide variety of excellent food! So good!! The only problem was the heat - the long double table cloths were like having blankets lying on our legs, trapping in the heat. No air circulation in the plaza, so bring a small fan for everyone with you. Market will be open on Mexican night - a bit pricey for some items. Seaside Grill - best clam chowder soup I ever had! My husband loved the salmon dish. Steak was a bit tough though. Nebbiolo - excellent Italian food! We went there twice. Loved the service too. Meraki - the Mixed Tempura was fantastic. The rest of the food was okay. El Patio - fajitas were good & so were the churros. The rest of the menu was a bit weird. We did not like the Pozole soup or the beef taco appetizers. Coca Cafe, Mita Cafe, and Sundaez Ice Cream - Excellent with many choices. Explorer's Club - my grandkids asked to be picked up after an hour. The list of activities for the week was pretty lame in our opinion. They have a rock wall and a bungee trampoline outside that looked like fun, but they never got used the many times we walked by throughout the day. The workers were nice, but they seem to have a limited budget for the one cheesy craft they do each day. Entertainment - Fire show was the best entertainment. The rest were dancing shows. The rock band was okay too. The mapping shows on the big round screen were interesting. Unfortunately, we wanted to walk through as quick as possible because of the extreme heat. No air circulation there at all. There were fireworks on two different nights, but I think one was for a wedding and another was for a convention activity. Luckily we were in the right pace at the right time to see them. Beach - small beach and lots of rocks in the ocean. This is a surfing beach, not a swimming beach. You really need water shoes. Very soft sand. Hard to find a chair on the weekend, but during the week there are lots. It is an adventure to go around the rocks past the Grand Palladium to the 'natural' salt water tide pool and take your photo on the swing. Do not swim at the next beach past the pool or you are taking your chances with the stonefish that live there. Staff - we loved them all!! Probably the best staff overall that we have met at any all-inclusive. They were all very friendly, helpful and competent. Waterpark - the kids loved it! Three slides, two pools and a great splash park. Pools - four pools on Dreams side down below. Just understand that they are heated by the sun, so it felt like 29 degrees Celsius in the water. Many times, I had to get out of the pool to cool off. The coolest pool is the one at the bottom of the two small kid slides near the World Cafe, but the temperature goes up throughout the day there too. The pools on the Dreams side are deeper than the pools on the Secrets side. The Preferred Club pool on the 8th floor is really nice. The loungers up there are very comfortable too. This was my husband's favourite place to go to read his book. We saw an armadillo walking around by the lower pools twice on the same day. It stepped on my daughter's foot while she was taking photos of it, got scared and jumped into the pool. Had no idea that armadillos can swim! Thank you to Dreams for a wonderful holiday!
