Rooms were very nice and updated. The food was terrible and some of the service staff were rude pushy and sneaky. The restaurants were disgusting.

We arrived to the resort around 2 pm and our room was not ready. We were greeted in the Preferred check in area by our concierge Hector. We said that we would like to go to the buffet while we wait and he drove us in his golf cart. Hector texted us each morning with the activities and listed the restaurants that were open. He offered to make dinner reservations for us. He was very responsive to our texts and answered all of our questions. We had a partial Ocean View room. The room was dated and showing a lot of wear, but it was clean. The room had a Nespresso machine, which I do not care for. I texted the concierge asking where I can get morning coffee to go and he asked if I’d like a regular coffee pot for the room. A few minutes later, someone brought up a coffee pot and I was thrilled to have that in my room to enjoy early coffee before heading out for breakfast. The air conditioning worked well. The shower didn’t always get hot. Our minifridge broke and I went onto the Hyatt app to report that, and within 20 minutes there was someone in our room fixing it. Housekeeping was great, Ana came daily. We did not receive turn down service however a few nights at around 10 pm someone would knock asking us if we needed anything. I guess they were going to do turn down service but it was too late. If we truly wanted the service I know I could have requested it earlier on the app but it was not needed. We were glad we booked the Preferred level at this resort. We appreciated dining indoors for breakfast and lunch. The buffet food was very good. They had many of the same items, but also rotated some new ones each day. We were pleased with the variety and quality of the food. The taco truck was okay, we walked over there once. The sit down restaurants that offered dinner ranged from okay to very good. We enjoyed Bluewater Grill the most. Other than Coquette, we found the service at the restaurants at dinner to be severely lacking at Breathless. At The Strip, they seemed annoyed even while taking our orders. Overall, the food was good, providing something for everyone. The drinks were very good and had a heavy pour. We enjoyed the Preferred Adults Only Pool where Angel was our pool concierge. He would come over to check on us. The first two days it rained off/on and he would always provide dry towels. Then Jeans came on duty to take over for Angel and he was great, as well. We really enjoyed chatting with him and like Angel, he could not do enough to make us comfortable. The Adults Only Preferred Pool did allow people to bring their speakers and blast their individual music, which was a bit disappointing considering we were hoping to enjoy peace at the quiet pool. The pool waiters were good and came around frequently. We went to the swim up bar for a drink or two daily and service was very slow. It was not crowded at all, but often times the bartender was up at the upper level bar for an extended period. The lazy river/water park got very crowded in late afternoon and felt like quite a party scene. We were glad we brought our own floats as it was often hard to get a tube. We started going to the lazy river earlier in the day and it was much better/quieter. We did not like that they allow smoking anywhere/everywhere. People were smoking in the pool and basically everywhere. For a family resort, we would have appreciated designated smoking areas. We enjoyed Coco Cafe and Sundaez. The shows were good, although it was very hot up in the theater with little air movement. At around 8 pm, they always had a very engaging activity for the younger kids. They seemed to be having a great time. The heart and soul of this resort is Juan who works at the Preferred Breakfast buffet. Juan wears an apron stating that he provides “coffee services” but he does SO much more. Every single morning Juan welcomed us to the breakfast buffet with a genuine smile. He asked how we were and chatted with us. He always remembered our coffee/juice orders daily and would confirm them and bring them. I always saw Juan walking around, smiling, talking to the guests. Juan represented the very best of this resort and we looked forward to seeing him every single day. He went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed and taken care of. Overall, we had a good experience at this resort.

Family of 4 vacation was a Dream
We stayed in a preferred swim out suite with two kids ages 8 & 10. I loved our experience because there were so many things to do for us and kids! You gave Acess to breathless adult only pools and resteraunts as well . Staff was incredible and took time to get to know us and took care of everything we needed. Best bartender hands down was Sterling! He treated us like family and of course our butler Rafael who made our stay incredible! It was a perfect way to end the summer in Punta Cana.

Bartender supper friendly and always makes really good drinks
