We had an amazing trip at Impressions in Islas Mujeres. I want to thank Angel and David, who were amazing during our whole stay. What an incredible experience! If you have a chance to go, do it. Once you arrive in Cancun, the resort has a boat to get you to Isla Mujeres, and you arrive in style. The resort is amazing. The staff is amazing, especially David and Angel.

25th Anniversary Celebration
We booked Impressions Isla Mujeres using our Chase Sapphire Reserve card and got a lot of useful extras, including a room upgrade. Having been to many AIC properties, Impressions has my favorite rooms! They are well thought out with plenty of storage and plug ins, good lighting and black out shade, and a secret box. We also appreciated having Netflix and You Tube on the tv. Just keep in mind that the island WiFi isn’t what you have at home. David and Angel were our butlers. They were wonderful!! We don’t consider ourselves high maintenance, but they took care of us with dining reservations, laundry, and activities. The waitstaff at every restaurant was amazing. They learned your names and paid special attention to you. We were never rushed and our glasses were never empty. Issac came down to the dock and talked to us about his activities. We joined floating meditation and it was super relaxing. A great reset, led by Issac. I would recommend his meditation classes. I also want to shout out the ferry staff. Both groups coming and going made us feel like VIP’s. It’s not a fast ride, but it’s super relaxing and sets the tone of your vacation. The staff member who greeted us at the marina, made us drinks, paninis, and helped with luggage was amazing. I wish I got his name. He also set the tone of our stay. When we returned, he made sure we had a ride and stayed with us til they arrived. We stayed 3 nights due to our budget. I wish we could have done 4, but we were fortunate to have the opportunity to come at all. It was worth the splurge for our 25th anniversary. We would go back in the future.

Location is great. Quite a bit of stairs to get up and down from the beach, but good enough to burn off some tequila. The pools are great as well. The food is OK. Italian placed sucked, the lasagna tasted like spaghetti O's. Tried it, didn't finish our food, didn't go back to it. Breakfast and Brunch upstairs at Unik was pretty good. It was our go to spot. The Asian Spot was OK as well. Not outstanding but OK. Nevertheless, service from the wait staff was superb. At the restaurants, on the beach, or at the pool. If we return here is because of the wait staff and bartenders, we could not as for better service from amazing friendly people. Even when my girl lost her Raybans while paddle boarding, one of the guys came out and helped us find them, that was amazing. We didn't even ask, he just noticed we were looking for something. Liquor selection was 5 stars. Good tequila. 7 leguas. The room was good. Not the best we have had, but great view. For comparison, I think the room and food was better at our previous Mexico stay at Conrad Tolumn. Negatives for us were calling the room at 9am, everyday, to see how we are doing. Texting everyday, to see how we are doing. And then bugging to do a vacation club presentation, which we initially accepted because we didn't know what it was, but essentially had to walk out of it because I did not want to waste 90 minutes of my vacation listening to a sales pitch. Again, for comparison, at Conrad, we checked in, no sales pitches, no constant bugging, if we needed something we contacted them and they immediately responded. We prefer our vacations to be quiet. Would we return, maybe. Definitely will go back to Isla for Tacos at Chilangito in town.

The property was absolutely stunning, and the views were unmatched! It’s easy to see why it has earned a reputation as one of the world’s most Instagrammable resorts. Every corner felt thoughtfully designed and offered another breathtaking view. We booked the Signature Junior Suite King Ocean Front, and it was massive—more than spacious enough to comfortably accommodate my wife and me throughout our five-night stay. The room was modern, chic, and beautifully appointed, with every detail thoughtfully considered. The Le Labo bath amenities further underscored the elevated luxury experience that Impression strives to provide. The Mayan tub and hammock on our balcony, both overlooking the ocean, were especially memorable. They offered the perfect places to unwind, disconnect from reality, and take in the beauty surrounding us. Together, they put the exclamation point on an already unforgettable paradise getaway. The food was equally impressive and far exceeded what we’ve experienced at other all-inclusive properties. Each restaurant’s menu was thoughtfully curated to reflect its featured cuisine while preserving the authentic flavors of the region. The seafood was incredibly fresh, the meats were tender and cooked to perfection, and the fruits and vegetables were consistently fresh and flavorful. The spirits were all top-shelf, including an impressive selection of organic, additive-free options—something tequila lovers like me will especially appreciate! The cocktails were equally well crafted and made with freshly pressed mixers, which made a noticeable difference in their flavor and quality. Our favorite restaurant was Wildfire Grill, the steakhouse, but honestly, you can’t go wrong with any of the options. Surprisingly, some of the best tacos we had came from the rooftop pool kitchen—absolutely delicious! Even beyond the dedicated restaurants, everything we tried was phenomenal. The poke, ceviche, tostadas, pizza, burgers, and truffle fries were all fantastic. That same quality and attention to detail carried through every dining experience, whether we were enjoying a full dinner or grabbing something casual by the pool. The 24/7 coffee shop was another fantastic addition, especially for early-morning starts and late-night pick-me-ups. Along with coffee and a wide variety of sweet treats, it offered build-your-own sandwich, charcuterie, and salad stations during most of the day. Having so many convenient options available whenever we needed them was a thoughtful touch. Sunday’s spectacular brunch was another highlight. It featured an incredible variety of regional flavors and cuisines that felt authentic and were packed with flavor. Add in an amazing DJ set and panoramic ocean views, and the atmosphere was off the charts! Talk about pairing great food with unforgettable energy in a spectacular setting. The brunch was also open to non-resort guests who purchased day passes, which brought an added sense of vibrancy and fun to the day. The spa was luxurious, and beginning each treatment with hydrotherapy was an elegant touch. The pools were also amazing. Whether we were at the rooftop pool, the main pool, or the third-level pool, we were surrounded by breathtaking, unobstructed ocean views. The Ocean Beach Club was a wonderful place to start the morning. Relaxing to the sound of the ocean while watching fish swim beneath us was incredibly peaceful. Lying in a hammock suspended above the water was another thoughtful and memorable touch. As beautiful as the resort was, it was the people who truly made our experience unforgettable. Our butlers, Angel and David, were incredible. They were attentive, thoughtful, and somehow always knew what we wanted before we even asked. From arranging dining reservations to coordinating activities both on and off the property, they handled every detail seamlessly. They quickly learned our preferences and made recommendations that were always spot-on—often anticipating and delivering exactly what we wanted without our having to ask. Each evening, they sent us an agenda for the following day, and they regularly checked in whenever they saw us around the property. Angel and David also went above and beyond to make my birthday special, arranging beautiful decorations, dining surprises, champagne, and desserts. Their genuine care and exceptional attention to detail made this trip unforgettable. Thank you both for taking such incredible care of us and making our vacation even more special than we could have imagined! Frankie—there simply aren’t enough words to express how grateful we are for his thoughtfulness, warmth, and genuine passion for creating incredible guest experiences. He led several activities we enjoyed, including the bike tour, dreamcatcher workshop, fragrance and candle-making classes, and a sound bath and meditation session. His energy and commitment to making every experience memorable were unmatched. He even created a special gift for me and personally delivered it on his day off so I would always have something to remember our time on the island. Frankie is truly one of a kind and an absolute gem! We also can’t recognize the guest experiences team without mentioning Abril. She was nothing short of amazing! She led our Huichol workshop and later became our very own salsa instructor during an evening of live music. Abril knows how to get the party started, but she also knows how to thoughtfully guide guests through cultural experiences that leave them feeling fully immersed and connected. She did it all with an infectious smile and a heart full of joy. Frankie and Abril, thank you for the wonderful memories, the laughter, your genuine kindness, and for sharing so much of the culture with us. You both helped make our time on the island truly unforgettable. This entire team deserves a medal! We also participated in an unforgettable private cocktail class with Christian. He was knowledgeable, engaging, and clearly passionate about mixology. We learned about everything from fat infusions and milk washing to different mixing techniques while preparing three delicious rum- and tequila-based cocktails. The paired bites from restaurants throughout the property were the perfect finishing touch. If you enjoy cocktails and want a fun, hands-on experience that goes far beyond the complimentary class, this is absolutely worth the upgrade. A huge shoutout to Christian for making it so memorable! A few things are worth keeping in mind when planning your stay. If you don’t enjoy extreme heat and humidity, do not book during August or September. The weather was probably the only real downside to our vacation. We also found the sales representatives who hovered around the lobby to be far too persistent. We declined the “free” resort credit offered in exchange for attending a 90-minute breakfast presentation about membership or discounted future stays, but we continued to be approached. When guests say they aren’t interested, that decision should be respected for the remainder of their vacation—not just for an hour or until the next day. The property and exceptional guest experience speak for themselves. We’ll return because of those things, not because of a sales pitch. Sales team, please ease up and allow guests to enjoy their vacation. Finally, ask your butler to review restaurant availability and scheduled closures as soon as you arrive. The restaurants rotate their closed days, so planning reservations early will help you experience all the dining options and avoid having to default to—or repeat—a restaurant because your preferred choices are unavailable. From the spectacular setting and exceptional food to the beautiful accommodations, thoughtful experiences, and extraordinary team, every part of our stay felt special. This was much more than a beautiful resort—it was an unforgettable experience created by people who genuinely care about their guests. Despite the few drawbacks, we can’t wait to return!
