Costa Rica Jaco Area best Trip for Families!

We love the entire Los Sueños property and the Marriott resort. The pools and whole property are beautiful! Kids love the pools so much. We have used different guides and companies for excursions on trips to CR over the years. Noone even comes close to the service and experience we got with Piko Travel. They are the BEST at communication and ensuring seamless transfers, and offer great prices. We even booked our stay at the Marriott through them this trip for cheaper than we could directly! And I have Bonvoy Gold status. Seriously, contact Piko Travel (find them on Trip Advisor) first before you book anything yourself to save some dough and trust that your trip will be smooth. Skip driving, use Piko for stress-free airport transfers, ask Lindsay or Piko for their connection to rent a golf cart to get around the resort, and book your excurisions with them. ATVs, ziplining, crocodile tours, sport fishing, guided hike in Carara, and another hike Piko recommended that I can't remember the name of. It was such an amazing trip! 10/10 recommend!! In the rainy season, it was still amazing. Just do excursions early in the day and enjoy relaxing in the hotel on the days it rains.

Our Family Was Engulfed in Pesticide Spray at the Pool

**Beautiful Resort, but Serious Concerns About Guest Safety and Staff Response** Unfortunately, our experience at Los Sueños Marriott was overshadowed by a very concerning incident and, even more concerning, how it was handled. The resort conducts pesticide spraying at regular hours around the pool area. During one of these applications, my family and I were engulfed in a cloud of pesticide spray. There was no adequate warning or effort to keep guests away from the area before this occurred. What happened afterward was extremely disappointing. Rather than first asking whether we were okay or offering medical attention, staff repeatedly assured us that the product was “non-toxic.” We ultimately sought medical evaluation ourselves. I was also disappointed by how difficult it was to get clear information about what had been sprayed and by the attitude of some of the staff while we were trying to understand what had happened. The General Manager did eventually meet with me before we left, but by that point our confidence in how the incident was being handled had been significantly affected. The property itself is beautiful and has a lot going for it. However, **families should be aware that pesticide spraying takes place around the pool area at regular hours.** After what happened to us, I believe the resort needs much better procedures to ensure guests are kept away during spraying and a much more appropriate response when an exposure occurs. For a resort of this caliber, I expected considerably better.

    Not worth half the price.

If this hotel was half the price I might have given it an ok review, but the main problem is that it is massively overpriced. The rooms are tired, the beach unappealing, with a long line of unshaded loungers chained together. There's a crazy golf course that's just five holes long. My son and I finished it in ten shots and about 5 minutes. The rooms are tired. The restaurants odd. We fancied a pizza on our first night. We had to eat it behind the back of the ice cream shop out of takeaway boxes. The second night to eat what we wanted we had to sit in the bar. The pool is nice, and extensive, but when we went to sit by it on our second day we found our wet towels still sat there from the day before, as we're everyone else's. They were still there when we left at the end of the day. None of this is what you expect at a hotel in this price range. It wasn't the most expensive hotel of the seven we stayed at in Costa Rica but it was by far the worst value for money.

One of the best best places to stay in Costa Rica

I found a beautiful spot here that was honestly I'm so gorgeous. My husband had so much fun playing golf and we enjoyed the whole trip. The rooms were really nice too!

Big hotel, no empathy from the personnel

The place is very nice. Food is pretty good, but for such a big resort some things are missing. There is no place to charge electric cars and it is even worst ti say that’s there is no wiliness or empathy to help. The day was rainy and in such a big hotel no umbrellas for the guests to go to the cars. The place is nice but personnel is not capable to adapt and help the guest.
