What you are paying for is the Nickelodeon/Karisma licensing and branding

As an elder millennial who grew up watching Nickelodeon, this trip was supposed to be a special experience for both me and my children. I was genuinely excited about the nostalgia, the characters, and—of course—the green slime! Unfortunately, while there were some bright spots, the overall experience did not justify the price point. At times, it felt as though a significant portion of what you are paying for is the Nickelodeon/Karisma licensing and branding, because the actual property, infrastructure, food, and level of service did not consistently reflect the premium price. Infrastructure & Public Health Concerns After a relatively dry period, we experienced approximately two hours of heavy rain and thunderstorms, which appeared to overwhelm the property's drainage/sewage system. During our stay, my cousin's room was affected by wastewater coming up through the drainage system. She waited more than six hours to have her room changed. While going back and forth with management, she was also informed that another guest's ceiling had collapsed. Afterward, there was a lingering, pungent sewage odor throughout portions of the property, and staff were diligently sweeping the water toward drains. I appreciated the staff's efforts, but from a public-health perspective, the situation was concerning. Fortunately, our room was on the second floor and was not flooded. However, being near the staircase and a connecting room meant we experienced significant noise from people using the stairs and from the adjoining room. When my concierge, Rafael, messaged me the following morning asking how he could assist, I raised these concerns and also mentioned that our room had only two U.S. electrical outlets. Unfortunately, I did not receive meaningful troubleshooting or follow-up despite multiple messages. This leads me to a larger customer-service point: when a guest raises an issue, the priority should be resolving the issue—not simply explaining which amenities the concierge is responsible for booking. Rafael clarified that his role was primarily to reserve experiences such as slime time, character breakfast, and Turtle Pizza Time. Those experiences are nice, but customer service should also include helping guests navigate problems during their stay. Accessibility & Safety There were also numerous uneven surfaces throughout the property without clearly visible warnings or caution markings. We witnessed several people trip in the village area near the braiding booth and around Nick Bistro. For a family-oriented resort, I was surprised by how difficult some areas were to navigate with a stroller. The Italian restaurant, in particular, did not have an obvious accessible ramp at the entrance, and we had to physically carry the stroller up into the restaurant. I would strongly encourage the property to evaluate its walkways, drainage, signage, and accessibility from both an ADA and stroller-accessibility perspective. Aqua Nick & Amenities Aqua Nick is a major attraction for families staying at the resort, so I was surprised by some of the operational issues there as well. The blue water slide was not working during our stay, which was disappointing because the water attractions are a significant part of the resort's appeal to children. I also think adding more waiting staff around Aqua Nick would be a relatively easy fix that could make a noticeable improvement in customer service. The area gets busy, and having additional staff available to take orders, check on guests, and respond to requests would make the experience much smoother. This seems like a relatively straightforward investment that could have an immediate positive impact on the guest experience. Food & Dining The dining experience was another disappointment. Aqua Bite has an extensive menu posted, but during our visit, only three items were actually available. This was not an isolated experience. Across several restaurants, there were numerous menu items that were unavailable. And unfortunately, the food itself was underwhelming. For a country and culture known for incredible flavor, the food at the resort was mid at best. At this price point, I expected significantly more variety, consistency, and quality. The Positives There were definitely some bright spots. Fresco was a hidden gem and one of the better dining experiences we had. Zuleika at the infinity pool was wonderful—friendly, accommodating, and attentive. Jose, the bellman, was brand new but brought such positive energy and enthusiasm that he really stood out. And Team Nick at the clubhouse was fantastic. The Sweetery was also a great touch and something the kids genuinely enjoyed. Overall I really wanted to love this resort. As someone who grew up with Nickelodeon, the nostalgia and concept are incredibly appealing, especially when traveling with children. Unfortunately, the property did not consistently deliver the level of hospitality and experience I would expect at this price point. My biggest recommendation to management would be to reinvest in the physical property and infrastructure, particularly drainage, sewage, accessibility, walkways, and general maintenance. I would also recommend addressing basic operational issues—such as ensuring attractions are functioning and adequately staffing high-traffic areas like Aqua Nick. These are relatively tangible issues that could make a meaningful difference in the guest experience. The Nickelodeon branding and experiences are valuable, but they cannot compensate for infrastructure and service issues. There are certainly wonderful employees who are doing their best to create a great experience, and I appreciate those individuals who went above and beyond. However, the overall experience left me feeling that the resort is charging a premium for the brand while the property itself needs significant reinvestment. I hope management takes these concerns seriously because the concept has so much potential. Families are paying a premium for a premium experience, and the resort should ensure that the infrastructure, food, attractions, accessibility, and customer service consistently match that expectation.

Nickelodeon Punta Cana Avoid at all cost . It’s not worth it

This is the worst ever experience I have ever had with a resort in Punta Cana to begin with the booking which the change the prices to the experience in the Hotel. They have so many rectritions and limitation from allowing you to walk in the premises to the time the open the kid poor . To eat the lines are long to and they are so slow it’s unbelievable. If you want your kids to have a great experience I would not recommend you to bring them to this resort . Every guest that. I talk to during my stay has the same complaints as me in regard to the limiting of opening time of the play ground and pools, to the time they closed them.

Unhappy with service, property and management team

Firstly, I would like to take a moment to thank some of the amazing people we interacted with during our stay. The wonderful team at the big swim-up pool, to the lovely Dominga at breakfast by the Explorer Table, we truly appreciated their kindness and hospitality. I would also like to thank Jhoan, who assisted me with an in-room dining issue, as well as our lovely housekeeper, who cleaned our room every day and the concierge supervisor . These team members provided us with excellent service and deserve recognition. However, I would also like to formally share my concerns regarding our experience from check-in through check-out. Unfortunately, the issues we experienced left us extremely disappointed with our stay. Check-In Experience Upon arrival at the resort on August 21, 2026, security held us at the gate for approximately 10 minutes and told us that we did not have a reservation. We presented our reservation details and were eventually allowed to enter. When we arrived at the lobby, the agent who greeted us then informed us that we were supposed to have checked in the previous day. I contacted my travel agent, who speaks Spanish, and she was able to speak with a gentleman at the front desk. Thankfully, he quickly understood the situation and resolved the issue. We had three rooms booked: * Room 1 – for the children * Room 2 – for my sister and her husband * Room 3 – for my husband and me I was advised that our two children, ages 16 and 17, could not stay alone in a room. I understood and had no issue with this. I requested one key for Room 1 and one key for Room 3, which was provided. Room Conditions Unfortunately, upon arriving at the rooms, we encountered several problems. Room 2: There were no towels, and the room appeared as though it had never been properly cleaned. There was also a leaking/running pipe in the bathroom that caused water to accumulate on the bathroom floor every day. We reported this issue repeatedly throughout our stay, but it continued. For the first two days, we also had to repeatedly request that the minibar be restocked. Room 1: There were no towels or washcloths upon arrival. Again, the room did not appear properly prepared for our arrival. The chairs on the porch also had dried paint on them, which was very noticeable and unacceptable for a resort of this standard. The rooms also clearly require renovation and better maintenance. Considering the amount we paid for this vacation, the condition of the accommodations was not acceptable. Transportation and Security Concerns Another major concern occurred on the day we went to the mall and later went on our buggy tour. We were required to meet our taxi outside the resort. Despite completing the required form with the hotel before leaving, the security team did not want to allow our taxi to enter the property to pick us up. This created unnecessary stress and inconvenience for my family. When we returned from the mall, I had to speak very loudly to security and say, “Please let me and my family in because we are staying here and show our handbands.” As paying guests, we should never have felt that we had to defend our right to enter the hotel where we were staying. These repeated interactions with security made us feel uncomfortable and, quite frankly, unwelcome. The overall experience left us feeling that we were being treated differently because of our background and the fact that we were not fluent in Spanish. The treatment felt discriminatory and made us very uncomfortable. I also hear enough Spanish to understand some of what was being said around me, and I was uncomfortable with the assumption that because we primarily speak English, we would not understand what was being discussed. Check-Out and $150 Credit Card Hold Unfortunately, our experience did not improve at check-out. When we returned the wristbands, we were told that we were missing one. However, we were only given two wristbands 1 was for room 1 which was for me the Adult staying with the children and 3 for my husband, who stayed with my son on that room. The trip only had 4 adults and all 4 hand bands was returned as stated above. I do not understand how we could be held responsible for returning something that was never provided to us. What made the situation even more unacceptable was that the security team kept our transportation driver waiting at the gate while the hotel requested a credit card so that a $150 hold could be placed on the card pending an investigation. Your team also would let me taxi on property until we left the card for the $150. Some crazy behavior, we felt attacked.  This was extremely frustrating and embarrassing, particularly after everything we had already experienced during our stay. I am therefore requesting written clarification regarding: 1. Why the $150 hold was placed on my credit card. Because we never got 5 handbands. 2. When the full $150 will be released back to my card.  3. What investigation is being conducted regarding the alleged missing wristband. 4. Why we were treated as though we were responsible for a wristband that we were never given. Due to the check in agent not making the change on his document, i definitely remember the agent stapling the extra key for Room 2305 to the registration card I filled out.  5. What compensation the hotel intends to offer for the room conditions, service issues, and overall experience. I have worked for a high end resort, and stay at the high end resort I understand the level of service and hospitality that guests should receive at a luxury resort. Unfortunately, the level of service we experienced during this stay did not meet those standards. We paid a significant amount of money for this vacation, and in my opinion, the hotel was not worth the value we paid. The condition of the rooms, maintenance issues, check-in problems, repeated security concerns, and the way we were treated throughout our stay made this an extremely disappointing experience. I want to be very clear that I will not be returning to this resort. If anyone asks me about my experience, I will honestly share what happened to my family and me. Despite everything, I do want to recognize the individual employees who treated us well, including team at the pool, Dominga, Jhoan, and our housekeeper. Their kindness was appreciated and showed us that there are members of the team who genuinely care about their guests. I would appreciate hearing from a manager or appropriate member of your guest relations team regarding this complaint. I am requesting that the $150 hold be returned to my card as soon as possible, along with appropriate compensation or a credit for the poor service, room conditions, and overall experience. Would you believe I emailed the front desk manager and reservation team a week now and no reply totally unacceptable. The Worst resort I ever stayed at and would never recommend and return.
