    good hotel but party hotel

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Great resort, but know what you’re getting into We stayed at Riu Latino for our honeymoon and overall had a really good experience. 🏨 Hotel & Rooms: The resort is beautiful, the rooms are spacious, and the fridge is always well stocked. If you need anything, you can call the lobby service and make requests, which was very convenient. The entire resort is kept extremely clean — the staff are constantly cleaning, and as other reviews have said, the property is spotless. 🎉 Entertainment: Honestly, this was probably one of the best parts of the resort. There is always something going on and always something to do. The way the resort is laid out is also great, with the restaurants, lobby, pools and other areas conveniently centralized. The water slides are another great bonus. 🏖️ Beach: The beach is beautiful and, during our stay, there wasn’t much seaweed at all. There was always space available, and the staff direct you to available areas. There is also beach service for umbrellas, so finding a spot was never really an issue. My only complaint is that there isn’t a beach bar, so you have to walk a decent distance to get drinks, and the drink service on the beach can be a little slow. 🍽️ Food: The buffet is okay. Nothing bad, but nothing amazing either. We found the à la carte restaurants to be noticeably better quality. If you’re more than two people, be prepared for occasional wait times at the restaurants. The coffee was also surprisingly good. 🏋️ Gym & Pools: The gym is smaller than what I’ve seen at some other resorts. The pools were also quite warm during our stay — warmer than we would have preferred. ⚠️ The main downside: If you’re looking for a very quiet, peaceful honeymoon or a relaxing getaway, this may not be the best choice. We loved the entertainment and energy, but there were definitely moments when we wanted some peace and quiet and it was difficult to find. The atmosphere can get pretty wild, with a lot of people drinking and partying. It’s fun and part of the experience, but sometimes it can also lead to some noise and messiness. Thankfully, the staff do an excellent job cleaning everything up. 🚕 Isla Mujeres tip: If you’re planning to visit Isla Mujeres, I strongly recommend taking an Uber to the ferry and going independently rather than booking an excursion. In our experience, the excursion wasn’t worth it, and we had a particularly bad experience with Nexus, where what was promised to us did not match what we actually received. Overall: Riu Latino is a beautiful, clean and well-maintained resort with excellent staff, great entertainment, a beautiful beach and plenty to do. Just understand that this is a lively, party-oriented resort, not a quiet adults-only retreat. If you want fun, entertainment and a lot of activity, you’ll probably love it. If your priority is peace and relaxation, I’d look elsewhere.

Great vacation overall, but disappointed with how a missing personal item was handled

Overall, I really enjoyed my stay at Riu Latino. The hotel, food, atmosphere, and overall vacation experience were great. Unfortunately, on my first night at the hotel, my Ray-Ban sunglasses disappeared. I reported the incident to the hotel and asked management to review the security cameras. I followed up twice and was told that the cameras had been reviewed, but nothing was found and my sunglasses were never recovered. I want to be fair: everything else about my vacation was great. However, I was very disappointed with how this incident was handled. At a resort of this level, I expected better security and a more effective response when a guest’s personal belongings disappeared. I would still recommend the hotel overall, but I strongly advise guests to be very careful with their personal belongings.

Great Adults-Only Resort at an Excellent Value

RIU Latino is about four years old now, but you would never know it—the entire resort was extremely clean and still looks and feels new! We had an ocean-view room overlooking the water slides, which were actually a lot of fun and felt very safe. We loved having so many pools to choose from. There were plenty of loungers, including lots of options with shade, which is always a big plus for us! For lunch, we loved how easy it was to grab something near the pools without giving up half your afternoon. Burgers, chicken sandwiches, nachos and other quick options made it easy to grab a bite and get right back to the pool chair. 😎 The beach is beautiful with plenty of chairs, although it is a bit of a walk from the main resort area, which is something to keep in mind if you have mobility issues. We also really liked the layout of the resort, with the restaurants conveniently located near the front of the property. And that buffet! It was probably the largest buffet we’ve experienced at an all-inclusive resort, with a HUGE selection. One morning there were six different types of eggs to choose from alone! There’s also a large theater for the evening shows. One of the highlights was taking the free shuttle to RIU Cancun for the adults-only daytime Pink Pool Party. So much fun! 🎉 One important tip: reserve your spot on the shuttle with the front desk ahead of time. It fills up! We watched people get turned away because they hadn’t made a reservation. Overall, we thought RIU Latino offered excellent value for an adults-only all-inclusive. Clean, newer-feeling, lots of pools, plenty of food choices and a fun atmosphere. We would definitely recommend it!

    Book it!!!

It won’t let me post the month we went. It was March 2025. This resort is absolutely beautiful and perfect. The grounds are not too big that you have to take some kind of cart to get anywhere. Any of the restaurants that we went to were delicious and we did not have to make any reservations. The buffet always had something different. The various pools provided a spot depending on our moods. There’s party pools and quiet pools. The restaurant in the pool area was also very good and served the basics. We had no issues with the beach and while we were there, they extended the pathway to the beach so you don’t have to walk so much in the sand. Also, there are servers who come down to the beach with a variety of drinks and if you want something specific, they will come back with it. The rooms were perfect. They were clean and had everything we needed along with a very comfortable bed. I can’t say enough about how wonderful the staff is. They are very friendly and very accommodating. Be aware for the foam party and the white party, it is off resort with transportation provided. We always vacation in Cuba but due to what is happening there we did our research and decided on this resort and have absolutely no regrets. So much so that we booked for March 2026. We can’t wait to go back.

    Beautiful property adult only resort

Just Returned from a 5 day getaway with my husband at Riu Latino. It was a beautiful property in Costa Mujeres, just north of Cancun. The ride from Cancun airport was about 40 minutes to the resort. Check in was easy and not busy in the lobby. We were greeted with a refreshing mimosa as we were checking in. This resort was very nice, and the grounds were immaculate as all Riu properties. I’ve stayed at over 10 RIU properties and Latino is ranked high on my list especially not being a palace. We had a frontal ocean view suite. The view was amazing. The food was delicious and fresh, I never have complaints about the food at Riu resorts. They have 5 pools and the activities were fun, the beach is a longer stretch than usual but it’s still walking distance as a beachfront. I enjoyed the spa with a really relaxing deep tissue massage by Melba. I loved that is was adult only but I can honesty say it catered to “Younger adult” crowd. We are in our 50’s but it was still a great time. The shows were typical entertainment from RIU. I do highly recommend.
