⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Five-Star Service, Incredible Food & a True South Caicos Paradise!

We just returned from an incredible six-night stay at Salterra Resort in South Caicos, and I truly can’t say enough wonderful things about our experience. From the moment we arrived, we felt the five-star service Salterra is known for. Our butler, Tony, greeted us with a warm smile and immediately made us feel welcome. After traveling all day without eating, we asked about dinner, and Tony got us checked in and straight to a restaurant where we enjoyed an amazing BBQ menu of ribs, grilled lobster, brisket, jerk chicken, and all the wonderful sides. It was the perfect start to our vacation! Our one-bedroom ocean-view suite with a lanai was beautiful, spacious, and very impressive. We had a slight hiccup with our room the first night, but Tony immediately came to the rescue and moved us to another room, which actually ended up feeling like a bit of an upgrade. Throughout the week, we communicated with Tony through WhatsApp, and he was incredibly responsive. From arranging a private chef-curated dinner to finding me extra Salterra chapsticks because I loved them so much, he delivered on every request. We truly felt spoiled having Tony take care of us all week. Another special touch was the nightly turndown service. Each evening, we returned to find a little gift waiting on our pillow. From salts and hats to rum cakes, it became so much fun to see what surprise would be waiting for us each night. The pool was the perfect temperature, and because we visited toward the end of high season in early September, we never had trouble finding a great spot. There was quite a bit of sargassum along the beach during our stay, but Salterra went above and beyond to make sure it didn’t take away from the experience. They opened the pool cabanas as complimentary for several days and even offered guests complimentary boat rides to Long Cay. Long Cay was absolutely breathtaking — brilliant turquoise water, powdery white sand, and about two hours to simply enjoy one of the most beautiful beaches we have ever seen. We also signed up for the kayaking adventure, which took us to the northern part of South Caicos. We kayaked through calm, protected water to a huge sandbar surrounded by gorgeous turquoise water. We were able to get out, walk around the sandbar, and see lots of sea life. It was one of the most beautiful places we experienced during the entire trip and exactly what I had pictured when imagining the Caicos Islands. Salterra also offers complimentary bicycles to explore the local community. Just keep in mind that South Caicos is very different from Providenciales — you won't find bustling shopping areas and rows of restaurants here. This is an island for people looking to slow down, relax, and enjoy the natural beauty. And now, the food! Everything, and I mean EVERYTHING, we ate was delicious. From sushi and pizza to fresh fish, vegetables, and fruit, meal after meal seemed perfectly prepared. We never felt like we were sacrificing food quality by staying somewhere secluded. Several members of the food and beverage team made our stay even more memorable. Rebecca took wonderful care of us at breakfast and was always friendly and attentive. Nicole provided equally wonderful service during dinner at Cobo Bar & Grill. Dale, our main poolside server, quickly learned that our signature drink was a Club Special and always took great care of us. And then there was Rafi! Rafi, a mixologist at Sisal Bar, became one of our absolute favorite people at the resort. We visited him almost every evening, and he never disappointed. He is incredibly talented and clearly takes pride in creating drinks that aren't just cocktails but an experience. He was attentive, interactive, fun, and genuinely wanted us to love whatever he made. Our final evening was especially memorable. Rafi and Agoya-Josh were part of a private dining experience arranged for us, where Chef Arishti curated a special seafood dinner. The team decorated our table with flowers and created a private area just for us. We even had the opportunity to personally thank Chef Arishti for sharing her talents with us. It was such a thoughtful experience and the perfect way to end our vacation. The spa is another must-do. Mayu was my massage therapist for a 90-minute treatment, and she gave me one of the best massages I have ever had. The spa feels like its own little resort — a paradise sitting right next to an even bigger paradise! There is a beautiful pool, hot tub, sauna, and lounge area, and you can have food and drinks delivered while enjoying the amenities. We spent most of our spa day there and truly felt like we had discovered our own little piece of heaven. Overall, I simply can't say enough great things about Salterra Resort. South Caicos is quiet and secluded, and Salterra is really the destination itself. If you are looking for incredible food, beautiful accommodations, turquoise water, wonderful amenities, personalized five-star service, and true relaxation, Salterra is absolutely the place to be. What made our stay even more special were the people. Tony, Rafi, Rebecca, Nicole, Dale, Agoya-Josh, Chef Arishti, Mayu, and the many other wonderful employees we encountered made us feel genuinely welcomed and cared for throughout our stay. We arrived expecting a beautiful resort. We left feeling like we had experienced something truly special. Thank you, Salterra, for six unforgettable nights in South Caicos. We can't wait to return and see all of the wonderful people we met again!

Experience the serenity, history and beauty of South Caicos!

We had a lovely, tranquil, and luxurious stay at this secluded Marriott Bonvoy property! Reception: Incredible hospitality. Yazmin seamlessly resolved a booking mistake we made, and our charismatic butler, Tony, took excellent care of us. Food & Beverage: Exceptional dining curated by Chefs Geraldo, Mahdi, and Harsh. Highlights included fresh lobster at Regatta, a unique salt-pairing course at Brine, and a fun Caribbean BBQ at Cobo. Special thanks to Paing, Vaish, Gyem, Phillipe, and Daniel for making us feel so special, Chino for his amazing custom drinks and hospitality, and F&B manager Karole for his attentiveness to quality. Housekeeping: Excellent service, complete with thoughtful treats and birthday gifts for our special occasion. Spa: An absolute must-visit for complete relaxation. The facilities are kept impeccably clean by Maria, and Mayu is an incredibly sweet and talented masseuse who delivered deeply restorative treatments. We highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking to experience the rich history and peaceful atmosphere of South Caicos. We deeply respect Salterra's commitment to conservation, particularly their focus on marine preservation, renewable energy, and community sustainability. While we encountered unexpected sargassum during our visit, this is a widespread challenge facing many island communities due to climate change, nutrient pollution, and altered currents, rather than a reflection of the resort itself. We highly suggest checking local conditions before traveling, as sargassum levels can fluctuate!

    Salterra, Excellent resort!

Salterra was an excellent experience in all aspects including the room, service, and food. Ignore all the reviews from their first year in business - many of the complaints from early reviews have certainly been resolved. I would certainly consider returning to Salterra! Couple things to know. South Caicos does have a direct flight from MIA on American which makes it much more convenient. I would try to avoid connecting through PLS since the interisland flights are not always reliable. South Caicos is not a party island. If you are looking for rest, relaxation, peace, and quiet, then South Caicos is for you. The rooms were luxurious. We had a 2 bedroom suite with ocean view. The rooms were extremely clean with great housekeeping. They also leave little gifts with turndown service every day! Also included butler service which we used for mostly information and reservations for restaurants and activities as well as for check in and check out. We had Greg who was a great butler! He was truly “At Your Service” and will do pretty much anything you request. We ate at every restaurant and never had a bad meal! The food and service at every restaurant was top notch. The head chef at Brine (I’m sorry I forgot his name) even spoke to us personally about the menu and made changes to suit our food preferences. They were not little changes but completely new dishes that were excellent (and maybe even better than the original menu)! Chef Yolly at Sisal also made arrangements for a special sushi lunch on our check out day even when it wasn’t a scheduled sushi day. And the sushi was so fresh and beautifully presented. We have been to top restaurants around the world including Michelin starred restaurants. So as foodies we were very pleased with the offerings at Salterra. The activities are little limited due to the weather but we did enjoy the kayak tour as well as the boat tour to the lizard island. Our reef snorkeling was unfortunately cancelled due to the weather. We did not walk to town but that is something you can do easily from Salterra especially if you want to try local restaurants. The other resort on the island is in the middle of nowhere so walking to town would not be possible. You can easily snorkel from the shore and the snorkeling is awesome! There is an artificial reef off the beach that you can almost walk to since the water is shallow. There are also natural reefs as well as a dock that is home to many fishes, a few turtles, and a couple barracudas! It is expensive overall. It is Turks and Caicos and you’re on South Caicos which I imagine everything has to be shipped/flown in. But the value is certainly there. You won’t regret visiting Salterra!

Our experience at Salterra was amazing and the rooms cannot be beat. Our butler, Tony, took great care of us and their service staff were all great. Lovely and vash were especially wonderful. We also spent a day at the spa which was very relaxing. Would highly recommend.
