First time in Bahamas
Staff were mostly professional and very friendly.Front desk staff were amazing at helping us to solve problems---we had some issues like AC stopped working and it was resolved very fast, everything was addressed promptly--we really appreciate that. Check in was a super long wait--came at noon and had to wait in line twice--first time to get bracelet, second time to get room----please give out bracelets on the bus next time !!! The location very close to airport so only a short ride. Beach was very nice with a coral reef close to shore, snorkelling was good --even saw small stingrays. The only thing in the afternoon there was a smell of sewage in the water --seems to appear the same time as cruise ships are leaving? --not really sure of where it was coming from but then the bodysuits were all smelly as well. Water shoes are a must because when there are slight waves you can't see the rocky bottom. Swimming pool was also very good. Buffet was mediocre but juices/tea/coffee/pop and beer/wine were available for you to just get yourself which was very nice. Water can refill at several stations--very helpful in hot weather.Themed nights at the buffet like Mexican were actually much better variety. Pizza was very good. Ice cream at the buffet was not eatable --seemed very artificial, also did not like that there was a gelato for extra money on site--should be all included in the price. Dolce Vita there were wasps flying since it was outside, Hacienda Don Diego the presentation was amazing, Viva Cafe was our absolute favourite---service was very fast and everything was very tasty. Beach snack bar was very helpful when you want to stay on the beach for lunch--hamburgers/hotdogs/fries and the drinks are available there as well. Evening shows were kinda recreational ----not much to do in the evenings--maybe do more games or show movies . Honestly should have just shown FIFA world cup instead. Price was decent at the time, would return if the price is right .

Cheap way to Bahamas (Explained why)
I have been the 3 different Viva resorts tangerine being my favourite. I came to fortuna last Aug for the first time and had an ok experience the beach is by far the selling point of this resort and the reason we decided to come again a year later except this time my wife and I brought family with us totalling 13 people and when I say the service here this time has been horrible it’s an understatement. The employees in the junkaroo Buffett hate there job except the supervisor that’s been here for 30 years she loves telling you what to do getting upset with you and playing that tenure card all over moving tables. Then when I ask them if they would like us to move them back your being smart with them almost embarrassing how employees can act like that and think it’s ok. The check engine n process takes forever with locals taking priority no matter where they are in the line the rooms are a complete write off with sand, mold, soap scum all over. The sheets do not get changed so there’s always going to be sand in your bed. If you book and advised them you want a king with ocean view your told to bad you get what you get. The server in the Italian restaurant was upset we asked to move tables to sit with family his response “ why do people make friends here to never see each other again” we politely told him we’re not friends we are family he actually felt bad for his comment but end of day was said If your reading this and are considering this resort take the review as you like when it was just 2 of us was just ok but if your thinking group I urge you to go somewhere else’ ** Viva please don’t respond to my review with your generic responses you make on all reviews the point of this review is to see how your employees are running down this resort and how your lack of upgrade or simple upkeep is taking from this beautiful country**

One week vacay at Viva
I travelled alone and stayed in room 1103, which had a gorgeous view right on the beach. The room is a little old and could use some updating, but everything was working properly, and the beds were very comfortable. The staff was friendly and welcoming, and overall I had a very good impression of the resort. The main thing I didn’t like was the way the fruits, vegetables, and salads were kept. They were displayed on plates inside the buffet area, but there was no air conditioning, so they often didn’t seem fresh and would go bad quite quickly. The rest of the food was okay, although the selection was quite repetitive. Overall, I think it’s a good value for the price, especially considering the beautiful beachfront location and friendly staff. P.S. don’t go swimming with pigs - waste of money , swimming with turtles was great !
